How is Petrol Rate Calculated in Dehradun?
Petrol prices in India fluctuate daily due to several external and external factors. While the value of crude oil and the exchange rate of the American dollar is naturally foreign, taxes and other operating costs make up the interior. Let’s review each factor in more detail to understand what increases or decreases the price of fuel in Dehradun.
External Features: Crude oil is purchased from barrels from oil-producing countries. Any shortage of production or supply, high demand, or political instability increases the price of crude oil in the international market, and an increase in production or supply leads to a decline in crude oil prices. As crude oil levels are high in the environment, fuel prices are appropriately updated. Crude oil trade in world markets takes place in US dollars. Any fluctuations in the value of the dollar affect the cost of purchasing crude oil. Therefore, any appreciation or depreciation of the U.S. dollar affects the price of gasoline.
Internal Features: The separation of the price of petrol includes a tax levied by the Agency and the State in which petrol is sold. The central government charges Rs.19.48 a litre as another tax, while Uttarakhand charges 29% VAT. Taxes form a major factor in the division of petrol prices in India. Crude oil is purchased and refined at the refineries of OMCs such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. OMCs can add their own profit line, higher costs, and seller commission before petrol is sold at RSP. Any change in tariffs, interest rates, or seller commissions leads to a review of fuel prices in Dehradun and other cities across the country.
How is The Petrol Price in Dehradun Revised?
Until 16 June 2017, petrol prices in Dehradun and other Indian cities are updated every two weeks taking into account the price range between two weeks of global crude oil and the US dollar exchange rate. However, this did not allow the OMCs to revise the price of petrol in the event of a sudden rise in crude oil prices. To eliminate any losses incurred by oil companies, a ‘dynamic fuel power system’ was introduced.
Under the new price system, petrol prices are updated daily based on the previous day’s crude oil price and dollar exchange rate. Petrol prices are updated daily at 6:00 am IST. Daily updates of fuel prices have begun to shift the shift in the price of land crude oil to the end consumer.
