LPG Cylinder price increases
From July 1, there was a rise in the price of gas cylinders. The price of a non-subsidized LPG cylinder of 14.2kg in Delhi and Mumbai will be Rs. 834.50, which is a rise from the earlier price of Rs. 809. The price will be Rs.850.50 and Rs.835.50 in Chennai and Kolkata, respectively.
Price data from the state oil trading company shows that the latest increase has increased the price of unsubsidized gas cylinders by Rs 140 in the past six months. The rate hikes apply to all categories, including subsidized and unsubsidized cylinders.
A specific rate or market price is applied to all cylinders throughout the country, but the government provides some subsidies to some customers. However, after continuous price increases in recent years, the metro and major cities have eliminated these subsidies. For example, there is no subsidy for clients in Delhi. As a result, since May last year, all Delhi buyers have been paying market prices.
