Finance Ministry puts examination for clerical cadre on hold
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is putting on hold the examination for clerical cadres in the public sector banks till there is a final view taken on conducting the tests in regional languages directed by the Finance Minister on Tuesday. 
The Finance Minister also said in a statement that a committee has been constituted to look into this matter to look into the demand for holding examination for the clerical cadre in PSBs in the local or regional languages.
Recently an advertisement was launched in both Hindi and English for holding an examination for the purpose of recruitment in the sceptical cadre of PSBs. There has been seen demand, in particular from the Southern States to include regional languages that are highly recognised for the bank clerical cadre examination and there are 22 languages that are recognised by the Indian Constitution.
The Finance Minister had assured the Parliament in July 2019 that the recruitment examination for the position in the Regional Rural banks would be conducted in regional languages apart from English and Hindi. The examinations for recruitment, since that period of time are being conducted in other regional languages too.
