Contactless Transactions are now possible and payments are now faster and safer as there is an ongoing spread of Coronavirus in the country, the Reserve Bank of India as on first of May 2020 asked the payment networks Visa, MasterCard, and NPCI to allowed tap and go functionality on card payments for all purchases at retail stores in shopping centres.
The current limit of rupees 2,000 is set at present for the customers to make contactless transactions at the payment centers for purchase. Top NP card payment facility for transactions about 2000 will require extra authentication and customers will have to enter the pin. They also said that the card-present transactions with EVM chips and cards maybe process in contactless mode is respective of the transaction.
