Finance Ministry Asks Taxpayers to E-file IT Returns Early
The finance ministry of India has asked taxpayers to file their Income Tax returns early to avoid the flood towards the taxpaying deadline.
The Income-tax department comes up with new technology that made all the preparations to provide the online facility to the taxpayers for filing their tax online. Now citizens can file their tax online on the website of the Income Tax Department.
“Taxpayers are requested to e-file their returns early to avoid the rush closer to the last date of filing,” a finance ministry statement said.
The Income Tax department has unveiled the software that will prepare the IT returns forms ITR 1-Sahaj, ITR 2, 2A, and 4S – Sugam for 2015-16.
“The e-filing of these return forms has been enabled on the e-filing website- https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in,” the statement added.
These forms have the facility for the pre-filling of information. The tax department has made the process of filing tax very easy and simple that now u can fill the tax from anywhere at any time.
“When the taxpayer exercises this option and fills in his PAN, then personal information and information on taxes paid and TDS will be auto-filled in the form,” Income Tax Department said.
