What Is Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana?
Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is a rural development programme that mainly focuses on the development of the villages in the country. It includes cultural development, social development and spreading motivation among the people on social mobilization in the villages. The Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was launched by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India on the birthdate of Jayaprakash Narayan on 11th October 2014. It is reviewed periodically by the NLC (National Level Committee) on the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
What Are The Main Objectives of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana?
The Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana mainly focuses on the development of villages in the country. Following are the main objectives of this scheme:
- Developing model villages, known as Adarsh Grams by the implementation of the existing schemes and some new initiatives will also be designed for the local context. These initiatives can vary from place to place.
- Creating models for the local development that can be replicated in other villages too.
What Is The Plan Of the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana?
The Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was initiated by the Government of India in order to bring the members of parliament of different political parties under the same umbrella. It will take the responsibility of developing institutional and physical infrastructure in different villages of the country and turn them into modern villages. Each member of the Parliament, under this Yojana, will choose one village each from the constituency that they are representing, except their in-laws’ village or their own village and can fix some parameters, making it a model village by the year 2019.
After that, they can take on two or three villages and will be doing the same to those villages by the time, the next general elections come along in the year 2019. They can, thereafter, set themselves some rural improvement projects or ten-year-long village projects. Under this yojana, the villages will also be offered smart schools, Pucca housing to the homeless villagers and universal access to basic healthcare facilities.
