Key Features of Ayushman Sahakar
- These funds will be made available by the National Cooperative Development Corporation.
- These funds can be suitable to provision and undertake healthcare-related activities to access the NCDC Fund.
- Term loan to the tune of Rs. 10,000 crore shall be provided to the prospective cooperatives.
- To establish and renovate hospitals, the main focus is modernization, expansion, and repairs of healthcare institutes and development of healthcare and education infrastructure.
- Working capital and margin money must also be provided to cooperatives to meet the requirements.
- The Ayushman Sahakar scheme will also offer a 1% interest subsidy to women-majority cooperatives.

The Importance of the Ayushman Sahakar Scheme
- Currently, there are 52 cooperative-run hospitals across the country with a total bed capacity of 5000. This number can be increased after the implementation of Ayushman Sahakar, which will improve healthcare services.
- This scheme is also following the 2017 National Health Policy.
- The Ayushman Sahakar scheme fund would also assist cooperative hospitals in their pursuit of medical and AYUSH education.
- NCDC funds will be distributed either through state governments/universities or directly to eligible cooperatives.
