Finance Minister Arun Jaitley secured the common man from rising prices by keeping duties on commonly used basic items unchanged. Moreover, he increased the trouble for smokers and tobacco consumers, with a higher increase in the excise rate of up to 72% on tax proposals in Budget 2014-15.
The best part is that the Finance Minister has not made too many hopeful promises, therefore, the scope of disappointment is less.
