Sputnik V vaccination transport boxes to be provided by Pluss Advanced Tech

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd will get temperature-controlled boxes from Pluss Advanced Technologies for effective temperature-controlled shipping and storage of the Sputnik V vaccine in India.

In Hyderabad, a separate specialised conditioning centre with a fleet of “Rapid PCM Recharging Stations” and mechanisms built for “Track and Trace” has been established. Pluss Advanced Tech will provide Sputnik V vaccination transport boxes in India.

According to a release, “the Celsure® COVID SURAKSHA box can sustain inside temperature passively, without electricity, for more than 100 hours and serve as an energy-efficient and safer alternative to refrigerated containers, conventional ice-packs, or even dry ice.”

On May 14, Dr Reddy’s began a restricted pilot soft launch of the Sputnik V vaccine in Hyderabad. Before the commercial launch, the ongoing trial has been expanded to over 27 cities across India.

The Celsure box may be programmed to maintain temperatures in over 40 distinct ranges, ranging from -77°C to +89°C, for periods of time ranging from a few hours to many days. This eliminates the need for electricity or fuel-powered cool rooms, refrigerated trailer trucks, or refrigerators at vaccination sites, allowing pharmaceutical products, including vaccinations, to maintain their integrity during transit.

It has produced over 35 temperature maintenance products for a variety of applications employing phase change materials.
