Regulations for forms 15CA & 15CB relaxed by the CBDT

Since taxpayers have faced difficulties filling forms online on the new e-filing portal, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has permitted moderation in electronic filing of forms 15CA & 15CB. Since the new e-filing website launch – https://incometax.gov.in taxpayers have been reporting the troubles faced by them.Regulations for forms 15CA & 15CB relaxed by the CBDT due to difficulties faced on the new e-filing portal

Until 30th June 2021, the two forms can be submitted physically to the approved dealers according to the CBDT. The income tax department also tweeted this information.

It is mandatory to file Form 15CA/15CB electronically as per the Income-tax Act, 1961. Before submitting the copy to the authorised dealer for any foreign remittance, at present, taxpayers have to upload the Form 15CA and Form 15CB, anywhere relevant, on the e-filing portal.

Due to the difficulties faced by the taxpayers, the Ministry of Finance has advised the authorised dealers to accept these forms manually. The ministry of finance also mentioned that for the document identification number generation, an online service would be offered later on to upload these forms on the e-portal. The e-portal was launched on 7th June 2021 to make the tax filing process easier for the taxpayers, but instead, the users have faced various technical glitches.
